In Japan, there is a 12.5-meter-high wall built exclusively to contain tsunamis.
After the 2011 disaster, the 395-km-long "Great Tsunami" was built.
The construction was designed to withstand the impact of a wave of 16 million tons of water and includes the planting of 9 million trees on the ocean shore as a secondary dam.
