Le Royalmount, ce mégaprojet commercial avec des centaines de boutiques de luxe, de restaurants et un cinéma, est considéré comme le nouveau «midtown de Montréal», a soutenu l’investisseur principal du projet, Andrew Lutfy.
Un midtown signifie qu’une sorte de deuxième centre-ville est créé pour attirer les gens avec une offre où tout se trouve sur place, a expliqué Jacques Nantel, professeur émérite à HEC Montréal.
«Les hôtels sont là en ligne avec Dorval pour dire les gens qui arrivent pour un congrès, ils n’ont plus besoin d’aller au centre-ville, ils viennent directement au Royalmount, l’hôtel est là, les restaurants sont là, le divertissement aussi», a-t-il illustré en entrevue à LCN.
