2: PALAIS BATONGTOU

Les Allemands vont construire à Batongtou un palais similaire à celui de Foumban. Batongtou était un grand royaume Bamiléké très influent qui malheureusement ne s'est pas relevé après la violente guerre d'indépendance. Le roi BATONGTOU était un allié et grand ami des colons allemands et comme pour d'autres rois collaborateurs, il va recevoir un palais avec un style germanique. Les populations étaient regroupées par l'administration coloniale au centre de Tonga dans des camps afin de faciliter le bombardement des contrées hostiles. Ce royaume s'est disloqué en plusieurs entités aujourd'hui : Groupement Badounga, Tonga, Moya, Milombé, Makenéné, etc. |Rub-Ubk|Durant la guerre, le palais a été complètement détruit. 1. BAMOUN PALACE

During a visit to the southwest, King Bamoun Njoya was amazed by the beauty and immensity of this palace, and this is where the desire to build a similar building in Foumban was born. The very first palace that he and his craftsmen attempted to build from mud bricks collapsed. According to some versions of the oral history of the Bafut chiefdom in the northwest, King Njoya sent Bamoun technicians to the Bafut king to inquire about the architecture of the walls and the structure of the Bafut palace, as the Germans had built and renovated the Bafut chiefdom there around 1910 using German technology, including bricks, a tiled roof, and other features.
